You can help save them. Our natural resources are our greatest shared treasure. Across the globe, people understand the majesty of wildlife in Africa, and the threats they face from poaching. It’s up to us to make sure they survive for the next generation.
At Zimbabwe Rhino Project, our aim is to provide financial support to ATS Anti-Poaching Specialists, a team of rangers on the ground who monitor rhino in Southeastern Zimbabwe every day. ATS has been training and protecting rangers and protect wildlife in the Save Valley Conservancy since 2012. Led by native Zimbabweans Bryce and Lara Clemence, ATS has been responsible for the dismantling of many notorious rhino poaching syndicates, with an accumulated over 192 years in prison sentencing from their cases.
Under the protection of ATS, the rhino population in the Savé Valley Conservancy has seen a biological growth rate of 7% over the last decade. leading to a species regeneration effort that is the basis of the work done by ATS.
ATS is regarded as having created one of the most result driven Malinois canine units in Southern Africa. In the last 4 years alone, there have been 29 rhino poachers apprehended by the team by their K-9 team.
Our work in action

Rangers are the Key to Saving Rhinos.
At the heart of our efforts are the rangers on the ground. Without their dedication and top-level training, wildlife doesn’t stand a chance. ATS has succeeded in dismantling many notorious rhino poaching syndicates, with an accumulated 192+ years in prison sentencing. ATS has cultivated a strong intelligence network which has contributed significantly to anti-poaching successes.

Active K-9 Training Unit
ATS has built a highly-trained K-9 unit to assist with tracking and poacher apprehension. In just 4 years, their K-9 unit has captured 29 poachers. Rangers and their dogs are deeply connected and work together to track and apprehend suspects. The unit also has a breeding program and assists with training K-9 units across all of Zimbabwe.

Creating a Culture of Conservation
Our work extends beyond anti-poaching tactics to create a culture of conservation. ATS is involved in providing an anti-poaching model for Zim Parks, Zimbabwe’s National Park System; repopulating parks with black rhino; teaching school children about conservation and bushcraft, and even community bee-keeping.
Since 2012, ATS has succeeded in

Building a team of rangers who are dedicated to protecting rhinos and other wildlife in Zimbabwe

Creating a positive growth rate for the rhinos under their protection, going from XXX to XXX in just over a decade

Translocating 4 rhinos, including 2 pregnant cows, to Gonarezhou National Park in Zimbabwe which had previously lost all its rhinos

Removing thousands of yards of snare line from the bush, protecting wildlife from getting tangled and reducing down bushmeat poaching

Supporting local communities through bee-keeping and other economic programs to decrease poverty and the need for bushmeat poaching
